Kinesio Taping (Injury Rehab & Posture Correction)
Kinesio taping is a non-invasive technique that supports muscles and joints with elastic tape applied along the tissue that needs help. Unlike rigid strapping it supports without restricting movement, which is why it is used for rehabilitation and posture correction rather than immobilisation.

Signs this is the treatment you want
- You are rehabilitating an injury and need support that still lets you move
- Posture and alignment you are actively trying to correct
- Chronic discomfort you are managing rather than resting through
- A joint or muscle that needs support during training or competition
- You want something non-invasive before considering anything else
- Restricted mobility you do not want to make worse with rigid strapping
How does taping support without restricting movement?
The tape is elastic and applied along the muscle or joint it is supporting, so it moves with you. That is the distinction from conventional rigid strapping, which works by preventing movement.
Because natural movement is preserved, the tape can stay on through daily life and training rather than only during rest, and it supports the healing tissue while that tissue is being used.
What does it do for posture?
Posture correction is largely a matter of awareness and endurance — knowing when you have dropped out of alignment, and having the muscular capacity to hold it. Taping helps with both: it provides gentle support to the muscles doing the work, and it gives a physical cue when you move away from the position.
It is a support to the correction rather than the correction itself, which is why it is often used alongside assessment and rehabilitation work.
Where does it fit alongside other treatment?
It is commonly applied at the end of a hands-on session, so the tissue that has just been treated is supported in the days afterwards. It also pairs naturally with a rehabilitation plan, holding the improvement while the strength work does the lasting part.
It is used for sports and athletic recovery for the same reason: support and pain relief without giving up training.
What the session involves
- Application of kinesiology tape to the muscles or joints that need support
- Support that reduces pain and aids circulation without restricting mobility
- A non-invasive approach that works with natural movement rather than against it
- Taping for injury rehabilitation, posture correction, or performance support

Kinesio Taping (Injury Rehab / Posture Correction) — your questions
What does kinesio taping help with?
Injury rehabilitation, posture correction, muscle and joint support, pain reduction, circulation, chronic discomfort and restricted mobility — and it is used to support performance as well as recovery.
Is kinesio taping the same as normal sports strapping?
No. Conventional strapping is rigid and works by limiting movement. Kinesiology tape is elastic and supports while allowing natural movement, which is what makes it suitable for rehabilitation rather than just protection.
Can I have it applied on its own?
Yes, though it is often applied at the end of a treatment or as part of a rehabilitation plan, where it holds the benefit of the hands-on work between sessions.
