Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation Sessions
An assessment, treatment and rehabilitation session is three things in one: working out what is actually causing the discomfort, treating it hands-on, and leaving you with a structured plan to rebuild. It is the treatment to book when the problem keeps returning rather than resolving.

Signs this is the treatment you want
- An injury that has not fully resolved
- Chronic pain you have learned to work around
- Mobility that has not come back after an injury or a period of rest
- The same problem returning after treatment that helped at the time
- Weakness or loss of function rather than pain alone
- You want to stop the next setback rather than react to it
Why start with an assessment rather than treatment?
Because the site of the pain and the source of the problem are often not the same place. Treating where it hurts can give real relief and still leave the cause untouched, which is why the pain returns.
The session is designed to identify the root cause of the discomfort or imbalance first, so the hands-on work that follows is aimed at the right thing. This is the same root-cause approach that runs through the naturopathic side of what we do.
What does the rehabilitation part involve?
A structured plan to support your recovery beyond the session itself. Hands-on therapy restores function; rebuilding strength is what stops the problem returning, and that happens between appointments rather than on the table.
The plan is tailored to your specific needs rather than handed out as a sheet of standard exercises, which is what makes it something you will actually do.
Is this treatment or is it prevention?
Both, deliberately. Restoring function and building strength are the same work as preventing the next setback, so the session is as appropriate for someone managing chronic pain as for someone who has just been injured.
It is a proactive approach: comprehensive rather than quick, and aimed at long-term wellbeing rather than getting through the week.
What the session involves
- Assessment to identify the root cause of the discomfort or imbalance
- Targeted hands-on treatment for what the assessment finds
- A structured rehabilitation plan tailored to you
- Guidance on restoring function, building strength and preventing recurrence

Assessment, Treatment & Rehabilitation Sessions — your questions
What does an assessment and rehabilitation session help with?
Injuries, chronic pain, mobility issues, weakness and loss of function, and the general discomfort or imbalance that does not have an obvious cause. It is also used to prevent future setbacks rather than only to treat existing ones.
How is this different from just booking a massage?
A massage treats the tissue. This starts by working out why the tissue is in that state, treats accordingly, and sends you away with a plan to rebuild. Book a massage for tension and recovery; book this when something keeps coming back.
Do I need a diagnosis before I come?
No. Assessment is the first part of the session. We advise on movement, rehabilitation and lifestyle — we do not diagnose, and nothing here replaces care from your GP or specialist, but we are very happy to work alongside them.
