My Journey of Nutrition Talks and Inspiring Conversations so far

Hey Everyone!

Admittedly, this is my first blog for quite some time. I'm 'quite' excited to share what I've been up to lately in the world of nutrition and wellness. Over the past few months, I've been on an incredible journey of connecting with people through talks, workshops and retreats that are all about giving you the information you need to help make your wellness choices easier.

There's something about being in a room — or on a screen — with a group of people who are genuinely curious about their health that just fills me up. One-to-one consultations are wonderful, and they're the heart of what I do, but group talks have their own magic. A question from one person in the room often sparks a lightbulb moment for ten others who didn't even know they needed that information.

Bringing Nutrition to Life: From Portugal to Zoom

From sunny Portugal to virtual zoom calls, I've been spreading the word about nutrition in the most engaging ways. One of my recent highlights was a vitamin D talk that really opened people's eyes on the benefits and uses of this simple vitamin. This vitamin alone can transform your life in so many ways (see the video attached and learn these benefits).

The vitamin D talk in particular struck a real chord. We covered how vitamin D functions more like a hormone than a vitamin, the role it plays in immune regulation, mood, bone density, thyroid function and even cancer prevention — and yet most people have never had their levels properly tested, let alone optimised. One participant told me afterwards she'd been prescribed antidepressants for two years, and nobody had ever checked her vitamin D. That kind of conversation is exactly why I do this.

Menopause Education

I did a menopause zoom call which was particularly special — we dove deep into topics that many women hadn't previously connected to possible menopause and lifestyle changes that can really help without much effort. The response was incredible, with comments such as 'I thought I knew quite a lot about menopause but that was another level!' and 'that was way more informative than I ever expected it to be on a works health talk'. Seeing participants get those "aha" moments is why I absolutely love what I do. I don't just want to tick the wellness box for corporate health — I want to make a real difference.

Topics that came up — things like how gut health directly affects oestrogen metabolism, why perimenopause symptoms can start in the mid-thirties, the connection between sleep disruption and insulin resistance, and why some women sail through menopause while others feel like they're falling apart — these aren't conversations that happen in a standard GP appointment. But they should be. And that's the gap I'm trying to fill.

Health Talks That Spark 'Aha!' Moments and Real Change

My passion isn't just about talking — it's about creating meaningful conversations. Whether it's a wellness retreat, a nutrition workshop, or an educational setting, I'm on a mission to make health information accessible, fun, and interactive. During the vitamin D talk last week, one person said 'why is this information not taught in schools?' — and they're absolutely right. I really want to help younger groups gain this type of information in their earlier years to pave a much healthier existence for years to come.

Every group I speak to is different. Corporate wellness sessions tend to draw people who are running on empty — high-performing, time-poor, dismissing symptoms as stress when actually their body is waving red flags. Community groups often have people who've been managing chronic symptoms for years without answers. And educational settings? There's something incredibly powerful about getting this information to young people before they've spent years in a pattern that's working against them.

Looking to Inspire Healthy Change in Your Workplace or Group?

If you're looking to spark some health conversations in your workplace, social group, or event, I'd love to get involved. Yes, I love doing my 1-2-1 consultations and plans, but spreading the 'healthy word' within groups helps more people more quickly! I tailor every talk to the audience — whether that's a 30-minute lunchbreak session on energy and sleep, a 90-minute deep dive into gut health, or a half-day workshop on hormones and perimenopause. The goal is always the same: leave people feeling informed, not overwhelmed, and with at least one or two practical things they can start doing the very next day.

Let's make wellness engaging, approachable, and most importantly, fun!

Stay healthy, stay curious
